# Who can open an Upside Account?

What are the eligibility criteria for opening an Upside Account?):  
  
To open an Upside Account, you:  
  
*   must be a UK resident, aged 18 or older at your last birthday;
  
*   hold an active UK bank account;
  
*   must be able to verify your identity for legal and regulatory purposes;
  
*   cannot have any UK financial sanctions imposed on you
